We live and work in a community cradled in the convergence of five valleys, a place called Missoula. Clawson Windows started in this town almost fifty years ago and has recently passed to its third generation of family management that takes it into the 21st century.
We take pride in a heritage and skill of craft, a tradition of quality and value that has become our trademark. We have our vinyl replacement windows in homes as far away as Japan, but we've always stayed close to our roots in Montana and the simple ideals of dedication and service to our customers that have guided this business in its development of products and their manufacture. We offer a superbly engineered vinyl window and door series that will enhance your home. Our beveled design displays sleek lines that compliment any decor, and the slim profile offers greater glass area, allowing more light and spectacular views. But the differences are more than cosmetic. Our design employs a multi-chambered frame, one of the heaviest in the industry, to ensure the greatest strength and maximum efficiency of each window. FEATURES
Frame and Sash
The frame and sash on all our vinyl windows are produced from pure, lead-free high quality vinyl extrusions. All frame and sash corners are fusion welded, providing greater structural strength and better air infiltration and water penetration values. Our multi-chambered frame design, with an overall depth o f 3 1/4” is one of the heaviest in the industry, enhancing thermal performance, adding to the overall strength of the frame, and reducing sound transmission. It is offered with or without nailing fin, allowing for easy and seamless retrofit installations. A special vinyl formula provides protection from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Larger sizes are steel reinforced for long-term, trouble-free operation and all sizes have a double walled interior glazing stop. A custom designed venting system allows proper drainage and water management, while drain caps keep insects out and reduces air infiltration. Windows are available in tan or white colors.
Glazing
All glass is premium float fabricated into genuine sealed insulated units, with an overall unit thickness of 13/16” using a 5/8” air space. Glazing is mounted in the frame using 1/8” closed cell glazing tape. Interior applied glazing stops on our windows make glass replacement easier and provide better safety. The glazing system used is warm edge technology, increasing thermal efficiency and unit integrity while decreasing environmental stresses. An argon gas filling option is available to maximize energy value. We also offer as standard Cardinal LoE2 glass, the finest Low E glass in the industry today.
Weather Stripping
Our vinyl casement and single hung windows employ a triple fin seal weather stripping system on the frame and sash, creating a tight compression seal that provides positive protection against the elements and air infiltration. Our vinyl slider uses the same system but with a double fin seal. Interlocking mullions ensure a secure, tight meeting rail.
Hardware
We use hardware designed by Truth, the leader in window operating devices. An internal cam lock system insures a tight seal when the windows are locked, and the cam-action latch design provides enhanced safety with a forced entry resistance of 200 lbs. All hardware is factory installed and comes in a white or tan finish. Brass rollers deliver smooth, easy operation and the single hung operating sash tilts inward for easy cleaning.
Screens
Windows have screens of rigid aluminum roll-form surround with exterior nylon corner keys in a white or tan finish. Screen material is a no glare, charcoal fiberglass mesh. Between-the-glass aluminum grilles are available in colonial or Queen Anne patterns. Muntin bars are 5/8” in width and come in white, tan or brass finishes.
Our casement line of windows, including bays and bows, provides a solid standard of performance while offering a selection of design elements that compliment any decor. Arranged in conjunction with other window styles, our casements produce a seamless arrangement of light.

The frame and sash are crafted of select kiln dried Ponderosa and Radiata Pine, treated with a moisture preservative for long life protection, with joints that are full mortise and tenon, secured with screws for added durability.
Finish
Primed or unprimed wood is available in our wood slider window while an aluminum clad exterior is offered in our standard colors of bronze, white, sand and green.
Glazing
The glazing system is warm edge, increasing thermal efficiency and the unit integrity. All glass is premium float with a 1/4" air space and mounted in a vinyl glazing boot for easy glass replacement.
Weather Stripping
A double weather stripping system is employed using the Foam-Tite compressible bulb, establishing a tight compression seal on the frame and sash, and providing protection against the elements. Additionally, a polyflex compressible leaf seal on the frame and sash increases energy efficiency.
Hardware
Latches are factory applied cam-action design for easy operation and come in a standard gold tone finish.
Screens
A rigid aluminum roll-form surround with exterior nylon corner keys and a charcoal fiberglass mesh comprise the screen, available in your choice of white or bronze.

Our sliding patio doors have an interior cherry finish handle with a thumb latch operator that withstands forced entry to 300 lbs stress load per NWWDA I.S. 3-93. An adjustable threshold and adjustable hinges are standard on the Park-Vue and Mountain-Vue swinging doors.
Screens
Four spring loaded adjustable rollers provide smooth operation of the screen constructed of a rigid aluminum roll-form surround with interior nylon corner keys and bug seal. Colors are white and bronze with sand available in our sliding patio door.
