Glass-Rite has been in business in Albuquerque since 1984. We specialize in the manufacture and installation of custom sized aluminum and vinyl replacement windows. Glass-Rite is also a distributor of JeldWen vinyl windows and Caradco aluminum clad wood windows.

Because Glass-Rite is a New Mexico company, we tailor our products to the New Mexico climate and conditions. New Mexico is an area that gets both very HOT, and very COLD! Glass-Rite makes replacement windows with both a thermally broken aluminum frame and with a vinyl frame. Unlike other companies that only offer one type of window, we can advise you on the type of window that is best for your home, including tinted glass for solar control, "Low-E" glass for high performance, obscure glass for privacy and tempered glass for safety and safety. Glass Rite installs windows throughout New Mexico including Albuquerque and Santa FE.

Vinyl Windows

Glass-Rite Vinyl windows are manufactured with a highly efficient, non-conductive vinyl frame that will never need painting. The vinyl windows come in a color choice of WHITE or BEIGE, have 7/8 inch insulated glass and a 3 1/4 inch frame.

These windows come in a selection of styles. Glass-Rite manufactures single hung, double hung, slider, picture slider and fixed windows.

Thermally Broken Aluminum Windows

Glass-Rite thermally broken windows are made of the best aluminum alloy and then improved by separating the aluminum from inside to out using a poured polyurethane, which reduces heat loss through the frame. These maintenance-free windows come in a color choice of BRONZE or WHITE, have a 3/4 inch insulated glass, and a 2 3/4 inch frame width.

All windows are available with "Low E" glass, an option that will increase the R-value of the insulated glass unit almost 40% as well as decreasethe amount of ultra-violet radiation that come into your home. These windows come in a selection of styles. Glass-Rite manufactures a horizontal slider, a picture slider, a single hung, a casement, an awning, and a fixed window.

Upkeep & Maintenance

Although Glass-Rite windows are close to being maintenance free, they may become dirty as any other item exposed to atmospheric and household conditions. Window upkeep includes keeping windows clean & dust free not only to maintain their appearance but also to keep them functioning properly.

Installation Maintenance

Check the exterior caulking at least once annually. If necessary, re-caulk area where needed. Pay particular attention to the tops and bottoms of the windows or anywhere that water is likely to accumulate. Glass Rite recommends using a high quality silicone caulking.

Normal Window Maintenance

Frames & Panels:

• Wash frames with a soft cloth or soft bristle brush.

• For difficult dirt and stains on windows and on exterior caulking, Fantastik or Murphy's Oil Soap is recommended. Avoid using household cleaners containing harsh abrasives or strong detergents with organic solvents.

• Keep tracks and sills vacuumed or dusted to keep sliding panels operating properly.

• Lubricate rollers on a periodic basis with a light machine oil (WD-40 not recommended).

Make sure that tracks and sills are free of dirt, debris or anything that might obstruct the window's drainage system. It is important to keep the "weep holes" both inside the frame, and outside the window, where the water drains from the window operating properly.

Glass:

• Windex or a similar glass cleaner or vinegar and water is recommended to clean glass.

• Avoid using sprinklers or garden hoses around windows. Local water contains a high mineral content and can leave spots on the glass which are very difficult to remove.

• Avoid excess humidity & keep home well ventilated to prevent window condensation on interior of glass.

Removing and Installing Screens

Our screens can be removed either from the inside of the house or the outside, and the screens them selves are interchangeable . However, most people prefer to have the pull tabs on the side of the screen frame towards the inside of the house. On the opposite side of the screen frame from the pull tabs there are concealed tension springs, usually located in the center meeting rail. To remove a screen, compress these tension springs by pressing the screen frame into the window and then using the pull tabs to get the corner of the screen frame out of the window. Repeat this to get the other corner of the screen out and then remove the entire screen.

To put the screen back in, start by sliding the side of the screen with the tension springs towards the center of the window. Compress the tension springs by pressing the screen frame opposite the pull tabs and use the pull tabs to get the corner of the screen into the window, repeat for the other corner.
