History:

Graef was founded in 1937 making redwood storm windows. As the market changed, so did the company's focus and Graef became a manufacturer of aluminum storm and replacement windows. In this ever-changing industry, vinyl was introduced as an energy-improving material and Graef kept up by introducing vinyl replacement windows.

In March 2004, Jim Poma, former owner of Poma Glass in Boardman Ohio, and Keith Jarmusch, CPA embarked on an adventure together. Friends and business associates, they had an opportunity to become partners and owners of Graef Windows. They purchased the business and began immediately to infuse it with new equipment and technology, new products, a new management philosophy, and a new lease on life!  Jim and Keith moved the operation and its 50 knowledgeable and dedicated employees to a modern 58,000 square foot facility in Boardman. This move to the larger, brighter, more open facility enabled the operation to be laid out in a manner that maximizes production efficiencies, optimizes material flow, and is wired to enable use of state-of-the-art software with modern equipment.

Today, Graef continues to grow its share of the local market and expand into new territories with its offering of vinyl replacement windows and related products. There is a commitment to quality and customer-satisfaction, and a commitment to each Graef employee that is prevalent in every decision that is made. Double Hung

Vinyl replacement windows beautify your home while reducing energy costs. Vinyl windows, made from extruded polyvinyl chloride (pvc), have become the industry standard because of their durability, thermal efficiency, and maintainability. Vinyl will not rust, scratch, or peel. Custom sizes and many available options are available to meet your needs. Not every single window in your home has to be the same exact type. A combination of slider, picture, awning, and casement windows looks beautiful and allows different ventilation patterns throughout your home.

A double hung window is the most commonly used window, and is designed to fit in an opening that is taller than it is wide. Graef double hung windows have two vertically moving sash, each with a convenient tilt-in feature for easy cleaning and come standard with a half-screen.

Slider

A slider window has sash that slide horizontally. Graef sliders are available in two- or three-lite configurations and come standard with half-screens. Both offer tilt-in or lift-out sash options. Three-lite sliders have operable end vents and a fixed center lite.

Casement

The Graef casement window is a natural choice when looking for more light and the most ventilation while maintaining energy efficiency. The casement cranks outward allowing fresh air to flow inward. Our casement is versatile and opens easily so it fits nicely above cabinets, counters, or other areas where a little reach might be necessary, but also adds a sleek elongated look in regular window applications. They are available in a selection of color options, and can be installed individually, mulled in multiples, or in bays and bows. The look is clean, the feel is fresh.

Scenic View

Let the outside in! Graef is proud to offer Scenic View, a direct glaze fully-welded sliding patio door to complete your window needs.  The scenic view features steel-reinforced sash and meeting rails, dual-fin weather stripping the full length of the interlock, and 1” double-strength tempered glass using Intercept® Warm-Edge Spacer.
The Scenic View Patio Door is available in two and three panel configurations, with the three-panel door’s center-venting. Standard sizes include 5’, 6’, 7’6”, 8’, 9’. Custom sizes are available.

The Scenic View Patio Door is available in white or biege exterior standard or choose from one of the 10 PRIZM exterior colors. On the interior you can add to the look of your room with light or medium oak or cherry laminated interior.

Exterior Acrylic Coating
Graef is proud to introduce Prizm, its custom acrylic copolymer coating! This unique color application process creates virtually maintenance-free colors that won’t chip or peel like painted wood or vinyl windows. The color has excellent long-term retention and, in many cases, actually improves the heat absorption over standard vinyl colors. This product is AAMA certified and fully-warranted. With ten standard colors and the option to custom match, the right look is certainly available for your home.

Graef’s high-quality vinyl replacement windows can be customized to create the perfect window for your home. Our Fashion Glass line is a revolutionary attractive glass system that enhances your window with the use of various design components to create and endless selection of patterns and looks.

Grid choices are available in gold or pewter and are available in five standard configurations. The addition of beveled and polished art glass of various sizes, colors, and textures create a look of elegance for your home. Fashion Glass by Graef is compatible with low-e and gas filling and can be used in double hungs, slides, pictures, and casement, and is fully covered by Graef warranties.
