Welcome to Kolbe Windows & Doors! As you may know, Kolbe & Kolbe was founded by two hard-working men full of ideas and integrity. One was my father, Herb, and the other was my uncle, Ervin. This company is the manifestation of their post-WWII dreams. They had a vision, a mission, and manufactured on it with a careful sense of responsibility to customers, the community, and the employees.

When choosing windows & patio doors, low-maintenance vinyl is the perfect choice. Windquest Series products are manufactured with durability in mind from uPVC extrusions. Multiple chambers within the uPVC extrusions provide strength. They also create a thermal barrier for superior insulating value, and help decreasethe intrusion of outside noise.

Sash and frames of Windquest windows have fusion-welded corners, that create strong corner seals. Available in white or beige, these vinyl windows & patio doors will complement any design scheme while offering the added benefit of requiring very little maintenance. Windquest Series windows provide everything you want in windows – including safety for your family and protection of your home... regardless of the weather.

K-Force™ impact certified products are specially designed to meet the strict performance requirements necessary to achieve impact certification. The durability of the impact laminated glass utilized in our K-Force products contributes greatly to meeting this criteria. Specially designed with a plastic vinyl layer between the two laminated panes of glass, the interlayer holds the glass in place if the glass breaks. As part of the K-Force line, Kolbe's Windquest Series products use dual-glazed insulating impact glass as standard, and have been certified to meet large missile impact level D, and wind zone 4 testing requirements (IPD4). Not only does this glass provide a greater level of safety and safety from flying debris and intruders, it also helps to decreasesound transmittance levels.

This dual glazing system also provides better sound transmittance levels. To achieve greater energy efficiency, choose impact laminated glass with H°K LoE²-270. Together, LoE²-270 coating, argon gas, and Thermo-Edge spacers helps Kolbe products meet or exceed ENERGY STAR® guidelines for energy efficiency in all climate zones. Other glass options are available as well, however opting for non-impact glass in these units will result in a unit that no longer meets impact certification requirements. Windquest products are available with protective film applied to the interior and exterior glass surfaces. This film not only protects the glass from scratches during transit and construction, but also reduces the time involved in jobsite clean-up.

Allowing for easy cleaning, 3/4" contoured grilles may be installed inside the insulating glass unit. Grilles will be white or beige to match the vinyl color and are available in rectangular and marginal (Prairie-style) patterns – or we can create custom patterns. 5/8" flat grilles and narrow brass pencil bars are also available.
