Lawson recently commissioned the construction of its own 300,000 sq. foot plant and offices in West Miami Dade Country. The facility contains digitized cutting and punching dies, conveyorized glass optimizer, insulated glass oven with press, computerized metal benders, and glazing machines. The new state of the art equipment placed in precise location, thru pre-plant engineered layout, provides optimum unit output per sq. foot of floor space, while achieving a maximum level of fine quality of product. Exposed aluminum shall be coated with an electro-statically applied organic finish meeting the performance requirements of A.A.M.A. 603.5 for pigmented coating. Coating shall have minimum of 1.0 mil dry film thickness in a white or bronze color. All frame members shall accommodate laminated glass in nominal thickness of 7/16”. Glass color shall be as specified. Optional heat-strengthened glass is available upon request. A selection of glazing compounds shall be used to structurally adhere glass in its pocket. 6200 Hurricane Guard® Picture Window Picture window Series 6200 and designer windows Series 4200 shall be manufactured by Lawson Industries, Inc., Medley, Florida33166, USA conforming with A.N.S.I./A.A.M.A. 103.3-93, and F.B.C. Basic frame sections shall be 2 5/8” extruded aluminum alloy 6063. Corner of main frame shall be coped and to receive its mating extrusion, and joined mechanically by two sheet metal screws. All assembly screw heads and corner joints shall be factory sealed. Glazing material shall be set in bed of wet A.A.M.A. approved glazing compound. Glazing beads of extruded 1/2” x 3/4” x .062” shall be set in glazing compound and exposed sealant tooled to provide smooth minimum radiused seam. Main frame, glazing bead, interior and exterior glazing muntins shall be formed in an infinite combination of bends to meet job requirements. All muntin cross-overs, and end brackets shall be of nylon with homogeneous color of either white or bronze to closely match the color of frame, and muntins. All frame members shall have a minimum dimension of 2 5/8”, cut and fabricated to form a tight butt or telescoped joint. All frame corners shall be joined by two #10 sheet metal screws. Horizontal meeting rails shall be of tubular construction, and attached to verticals with two sheet metal screws per joint. Vent rails shall also be of tubular design, and contain integrally extruded lift rails. Vent sill rail shall be fitted with weathering bulb vinyl to seal sill to intermediate riser of sill. Weathering sill shall also contain polypropolene pile with transparent vinyl fin. Each vent rail shall contain two 3” long spring loaded claw latches that engage with full-length lip to provide positive, secure latching. TAS 201, TAS 202 and TASA 203. All window members shall be of commercial quality 6063 aluminum hardened to T5 and T6 temper. All frame members shall have a minimum dimension of 2 5/8”, cut and fabricated to form a tight butt or telescoped joint. All frame corners shall be joined by two #10 sheet metal screws. Vertical meeting tails shall be of tubular construction, and attached to horizontals with two sheet metal screws per joint. Vent rails shall also be of tubular design, and contain integrally extruded pull rails. Vent lock rail shall be fitted with weathering bulb vinyl to seal vent to jamb of frame. Weathering at jamb shall also contain polypropolene pile with transparent vinyl fin. Each vent rail shall contain two 3” long spring loaded claw latches that engage with full length jamb lip to provide positive, secure latching. When specified, tubular aluminum extruded muntin and flat aluminum interior muntin shall be applied to glass in multitude of standard and custom configurations. All half screens shall be of rolled aluminum tubular profile, and can be applied from the interior without using tools. Screens shall be held firmly in place by integrally extruded stops in sill, and meeting rail. Mesh fabric shall be 18” x 16” dark grey fiberglass. Mesh shall be resplindable with plastic material. Performance data shall comply with Florida Building Code for impact-resistant product. Consult Lawson web site for specifics: www.lawson-industries.com. All frame and sash members shall accommodate annealed laminated glass in nominal thickness of 5/16”. Glass color shall be as specified. Optional heat-strengthened glass is available upon request. A snap fitted aluminum glazing bead containing a compressible vinyl bulb shall be factory applied from the exterior to conceal, and protect the glazing pocket. 9200 Hurricane Guard® Sliding Glass Door Sliding glass doors shall be of series 9200 as manufactured by Lawson Industries, Inc., Medley, Florida, USA. Conforming with A.N.S.I./A.A.M.A. 103.3-93, for S.G.D. C40 to C50, A.A.M.A. 1302.5-76 for forced entry resistance, and F.B.C. TAS 201, TAS 202 and TAS 203. Miami Dade County Florida notice of acceptance, and Florida Building Code (F.B.C.) Certifications are available on Lawson web site: www.lawson-industries.com. All door members shall be of commercial quality 6063 aluminum alloy to T5 and T6 temper. Door stiles shall be notched to allow top and bottom rails to telescope into stiles for maximum strength. Locking and fixed stiles to be of tubular design with minimum dimension of 2 5/8” x 1 1/2”. Tubular interlock stiles shall have a minimum dimension of 2 1/2” x 1 1/2”. Both vertical stiles and horizontal rails are an assembly consisting of the base extrusion, and a snap fitted aluminum glazing adaptor containing a compressible (geon) vinyl bulb, applied to the exterior of each panel member to conceal and protect the glazing rebate. Tracks shall be of sloped exterior design with a 2 1/4” vertical riser as standard. An optional track with 3” vertical riser shall be available for conditions requiring higher positive pressures. Top of vertical door stiles shall be joined to horizontal rails using two #10 x 3/4” sheet metal screws. Bottom door rails shall be joined to stile using one #10 x 3/4” sheet metal screw. Doors, jambs and headers shall receive an electro-statically applied 1.0 mil dry fill thickness coating which meets the performance requirements of A.A.M.A. 603.5 in a choice of bronze or white. All tracks and thresholds shall be finished. |
