Raising requirements, expanding views
Pella Corporation was founded in 1925 as the Rolscreen Company. Initially, the company was most widely known for its "disappearing" Rolscreen® window screen. Updated in its design and still popular today, the patented Rolscreen insect screen rolls out of sight when not in use. Rolscreen technology has also been applied to Pella® patio doors and storm doors.

In 1992, the company changed its name to Pella Corporation, to better reflect its entire product offering. Headquartered in Pella, Iowa, the privately-held company known for innovation, holds more than 100 product and design patents.

"100 Best Companies To Work For"
For the eighth consecutive year, Pella has been honored by FORTUNE magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in the United States. Pella earned this recognition for providing exceptional benefits, development opportunities and a quality work environment for its employees. Pella Corporation is the only privately-owned Iowa-based company and one of a few manufacturers to be included on FORTUNE’s highly-respected list.

Quality products from an industry leader
Pella Corporation is a leading manufacturer of quality replacement windows and doors available in a selection of types and styles to meet virtually any design or budget need, producing these unique brands of products: Pella, ThermaStar by Pella® and Viking®.

The Pella brand offers a full range of quality residential and commercial products under distinct product lines crafted from wood: Architect Series®, Designer Series® and ProLine®.

In 2003, the company introduced the Pella® Impervia® brand, made of Duracast® — the strongest, most durable material available in Windows and doors. Pella Impervia fiberglass composite products offer lasting value in windows and patio doors designed to withstand extreme heat and excessive moisture conditions.

ThermaStar by Pella brand vinyl Windows and doors — which, like other Pella-branded solutions, are factory-assembled to ensure superior performance and quality, and are energy-efficient — also made their debut in 2003.

Extensive sales and service network
Early in its history, Pella manufactured a dedicated national sales and service organization for its products, which now serves customers throughout North America, and customers in other select countries.

The Pella direct sales network (PDSN) operates Pella® Window & Door Showrooms, designed to help customers make informed window and door decisions, and, if needed, to provide professional support after the sale.

In 1992, Pella entered the national retail market with ProLine windows and patio doors, adding distribution through select lumberyards in 1994. Today, ProLine products are sold in top U.S. and Canadian building-material retail stores.

In 2001, Pella and Lowe's stores introduced the Pella® Design Centersm (PDC) to assist consumers with their window, entry door, storm door, and patio door needs. Located exclusively at Lowe’s, the Pella Design Center is a “store-within-a-store,” featuring informative world-class merchandising displays, staffed by helpful Lowe’s associates trained to provide outstanding Pella-branded products and service, to take the complexity out of window and door purchases for Lowe’s shoppers.

WDMA Hallmark Certification.
Pella products labeled with the Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) Hallmark Certification are tested in accordance with applicable WDMA performance requirements, which requires products be tested for air infiltration, water infiltration and structural performance. The WDMA certification requirements measure the performance of a single sample of the product at the time of manufacture. Performance of Pella products, as measured by the WDMA requirements, will change over time depending upon the conditions of use. For details on Hallmark Certification, go to www.WDMA.com. All Hallmark Certification performance ratings apply to individual products only. Pella makes no claims as to the overall performance of mulled and/or product combinations.

NFRC Standards.
Pella products labeled with the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) Energy Performance label are tested in accordance with NFRC requirements. NFRC ratings are based on a combination of computer simulations and physical testing of product samples. For details on NFRC energy performance ratings, go to www.NFRC.org.

Argon.
For Pella products labeled as having Low-E insulating glass with argon, Pella injects argon at the time of manufacture. No warranty is made as to the amount or percentage of argon present in the insulating glass. It is known that argon within insulating glass dissipates over time. The manner of use and conditions of installation of the product will affect the rate of dissipation of argon out of the insulating-glass. Pella makes no warranty regarding the rate of dissipation of argon or the amount of argon remaining in the window at any time after manufacture.
