Formerly Alumax Building Products, Inc., Amerimax Building Products, Inc., entered the custom replacement vinyl window market in 1986 establishing its first window fabrication plant in Loveland, Colorado. In 1990, after experiencing rapid growth and increasing demand in the western United States, vinyl window fabrication was integrated into the Sacramento, California facility.

Amerimax currently serves the western United States with multiple lines of the finest custom-manufactured vinyl replacement windows products available.

Our vinyl replacement windows are individually engineered to far exceed industry standards for energy efficiency, quality and value.

Customer satisfaction is our number-one priority. Our success allows us to offer one of the industry's strongest, most comprehensive warranties and authorized dealer support systems.

The ENERGY STAR® label was created by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to help consumers quickly and easily identify windows and other products that save energy.

Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR®, saved enough energy in 2005 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 23 million cars - all while saving $12 billion on their utility bills.

Amerimax windows proudly carry the ENERGY STAR® label and are American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) tested and certified. Amerimax products with the Ameriglass ig™ system meet or exceed the minimum ENERGY STAR® criteria for energy efficiency in all climate regions.

By selecting Amerimax, you are buying technologically advanced windows with unsurpassed energy efficiency that will deliver years of energy savings.

Windows That Measure Up

The NFRC Label

The NFRC has developed a window energy rating system based on Whole Product (Total Window) performance.

The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) energy performance label can help you determine how well a product will perform the functions of helping to cool your building in the summer, warm your building in the winter, keep out wind, and resist condensation. By using the information contained on the label, builders and consumers can reliably compare one product with another, and make informed decisions about the windows, doors, and skylights they buy.

NFRC adopted a new energy performance label in 2005. It lists the manufacturer, describes the product, provides a source for additional information, and includes ratings for one or more energy performance characteristics.

The information contained on the label is also available in the NFRC's online Certified Products Directory. http://www.nfrc.org/ The definitions for the terms are:

U-Factor (U)
U-factor measures how well a product prevents heat from escaping. The rate of heat loss is indicated in terms of the U-factor (U-value) of a window assembly. U-Factor ratings generally fall between 0.20 and 1.20. The insulating value is indicated by the R-value, which is the inverse of the U-value. The lower the U-value, the greater a window's resistance to heat flow and the better its insulating value.

Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC)
The Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures how well a window blocks heat from sunlight. The SHGC is the fraction of the heat from the sun that enters through a window. SHGC is expressed as a number between 0 and 1. The lower a window's SHGC, the less solar heat it transmits.

Visible Light Transmittance (VT)
Visible Transmittance (VT) measures how much light comes through a product. The visible transmittance is an optical property that indicates the amount of visible light transmitted. VT is expressed as a number between 0 and 1. The higher the VT, the more light is transmitted.

Condensation Resistance* (CR)
Condensation Resistance (CR) measures the ability of a product to resist the formation of condensation on the interior surface of that product. The higher the CR rating, the better that product is at resisting condensation formation. While this rating cannot predict condensation, it can provide a credible method of comparing the potential of various products for condensation formation. CR is expressed as a number between 0 and 100. *This rating is optional and manufacturers can choose not to include it.

Working as partners with our suppliers Amerimax continuously evaluates changes in technology and materials to ensure that the components for your windows are the finest.

We use a specially compounded, lead-free, non-toxic PVC (polyvinyl chloride) frame and sash material that resists the transfer of heat and cold, and won't chip, warp, crack, blister, or peel.

Amerimax has developed Ameriglass our proprietary insulated glass system.

Ameriglass combines dual layer soft coat Low E (low emissivity) glass and TrueWarm® warm edge spacer technology to create a insulated glass unit that blocks ultraviolet light and deflects heat better than any other system on the market. You'll see energy savings year-round.

Beneath the beautiful exterior, is the finest quality hardware, state of the art components and our
attention-to-detail . . .

from brass rollers, and easy touch tilt latches to double weather-stripping in sashes, and multi-chambered heavy wall extrusions, the list goes on and on,

to ensure your windows will perform beyond your expectations.

And continues as we put it all together

Unlike like some window manufacturers, Amerimax does not mass-produce standard-sized windows. Instead, we custom-build windows and everything in the manufacturing process is done individually for your existing window openings.

So you don't have to "rebuild" your home just to replace windows.

First, we make the insulated glass units.

Large sheets of annealed glass for your windows arrive in our plant and are placed on special air tables where computer programmed diamond cutters size your individual lites with a minimum of waste.

The lites are then fed on automated roller beds into a high temperature glass washing machine, where both sides are washed. The cleaned lites arrive in the sterile assembly room where the dried and cleaned lites are examined over intense lights for defects.

In the sterile assembly room the two lites are joined and sealed using our unique multi seal warm edge technology. We apply our warm edge spacer with dual seal acrylic adhesive to the first glass lite. The second glass lite is set in place using a pneumatic squaring table this creates the "dead" air space that gives an insulation value to the window.

The insulated glass unit is then hermetically sealed again with our computer controlled hot melt system creating a permanent seal around the entire insulated glass unit.

We are getting the frames and sashes ready.
Working from our inventory of pre extruded polyvinyl chloride lineals we prepare the frames and sashes for your windows.

The lineals are then sent to our computer controlled double miter saw where they are custom cut to your exact dimensions.

After they are cut we pneumatically punch them to accept the hardware and weep system for your selected window.

Once they are punched we use our computer temperature controlled thermal fusion welders to the bond the corners.

Once they are punched we use our computer temperature controlled thermal fusion welders to the bond the corners.

High-speed cutter knives remove weld residue and excess vinyl from the fusion welded joints of the frames and sashes

Final assembly and quality control.

The completed frames and glazed sashes are brought to the adjustable pneumatic squaring rack, which simulates an actual wall, and final assembly is completed.

Before leaving the pneumatic squaring rack all operational systs are tested and the final quality control checks are performed.

Your completed windows are sent to shipping where your order is staged for delivery to your authorized Amerimax dealer.

By selecting Amerimax Windows, you are buying technologically advanced windows with unsurpassed energy efficiency and freedom from maintenance for many years of enjoyment.
