From our beginnings

in Germany in 1951, we’ve grown into a worldwide company with 4,600 people in 70 countries. Since 1997 our plant in Newington, CT has been supplying vinyl replacement windows, facades and solar technology for the US market.

Governor Richardson visits Schüco at Intersolar in Munich New Mexico seeks high-performance partner Union City, California, June 23/PRNewswire/ -- During his trip to Europe, Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico visited the Intersolar trade fair in Munich, Germany, where he had a long talk about the latest solar technologies with Dirk U. Hindrichs, President and CEO of Schüco International KG.

Attracting more than a 1,000 exhibitors, Intersolar is the biggest solar power show in Europe, and Schüco, with its full range of photovoltaic and solar thermal products, is the largest exhibitor. Europe’s market leader will also be displaying its products at Intersolar North America, which take place July 15-17, 2008.

During a tour of Schüco’s 8,000-sq.ft. stand, Governor Richardson had a chance to see at firsthand the very latest solar power technologies and systems. These range from photovoltaic modules of all types and state-of-the-art thin-film technology to high-efficiency solar thermal and solar cooling systems. Schüco also supplies mounting systems for every type of building and a multitude of accessories. Governor Richardson, who served as Secretary of Energy in the Clinton Administration from 1998-2000, wants New Mexico to take the lead as one of America’s foremost users of renewable energy sources and clean energy technologies. Together with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California, in 2004 he signed a declaration with the goal of generating 30,000 megawatts of clean energy in the western United States by 2015, and achieving a 20% increase in energy efficiency by 2020.
